Personal skills

You probably wonder how every time the HR officer prices the employees with good qualities that they might not actually have.

For example: “He does a good job on the projects.” Well this means that this guy is a good employee and indeed does a good job on the projects but not good enough. If he was really good, the HR officer would use expression like this: “He does excellent / outstanding job on the projects.” Even stronger is: “He always does and excellent job on all projects.”

Here are some other explanations:
“He tries hard.” meaning “He is not succeeding, despite his efforts.”
“He works hard to understand the rules” meaning “He doesn’t understand the rules.”
“He is a caring parent and pays lots of attention to the kids.” meaning “He goes out of work during working time to attend his children.”

And now I offer you some pretty funny interpretations ;o))
