Don't Fly with LOT

I would like to share with you one very unpleasant experience of mine with the Polish Airlines – LOT. I wouldn't do that if they tried to apologize or compensate me somehow, but they didn't and they totally ignored my complaint.

The case was such – I was flying from Helsinki to Sofia, through Warsaw. Few minutes before landing in Warsaw, LOT announced that the weather conditions are terrible and they have to land on a different airport. So they landed in Gdansk. My luggage was checked straight to Sofia, but in Gdansk LOT gave me ALL my baggage and told us (me and the other passengers) that we have to travel to Warsaw by bus (which was 8 hours long!) without giving us anything to drink, eat or whatever! So I – a tiny girl below 50 kilos, had to carry to the bus 3 bags of about the same weight.

Anyway, after 8 hours driving, we reached the airport in Warsaw. Of course I had missed my flight to Sofia, and LOT couldn't arrange me any other one besides the same flight but on the next day. And guess what – LOT didn't give me any hotel room!

Furthermore, the hotel at the airport was fully occupied (because of other delays) and LOT did not assist me in finding another hotel!!! So they left me without food, water and bed for 24 hours!

Finally, on the next day when I was checking for my flight, LOT made me pay extra for excessive luggage!!!! From Finland to Poland they did not make me pay, but suddenly form Poland to Bulgaria I had to pay! This was the most impudent thing I’ve ever seen – not only did not they pay for their bad service, but they made ME pay!!!

When I went home I sent them complaint, but nothing followed.

Dear LOT, I hope one day you will get exaclty the same treatment when you fly! Nothing more or less. Wish you fewer and fewer customers!

Yours,
Iva
